Slide Ridge Honey is a beekeeping and honey business located below Slide Ridge in the beautiful Cache Valley of Northern Utah. We are a family owned and operated business. We love working with the bees and with each other! And on top of that, Mom still fixes us lunch every day at the Honey House!
We have created a unique all-natural Slide Ridge Honey Wine Vinegar using fermented honey as its base. We are also a winery because the first step to making delicious honey wine vinegar is making exceptional honey wine. We actually market some of our wine under the Slide Ridge Winery label.
We have a new flavor!
Created from a naturally fermented blend of local Utah apples with pure, raw honey, our Harvest Apple Honey Wine Vinegar was originally conceived as an idea to further support our local farmers.
Several years ago, Martin was visiting with some local orchard owners and he noticed there were plenty of apples on the trees, waiting to be picked, but nobody was picking. When he asked why, he was told that the apple prices were too low that year to pay the harvesters. The apple crop in other areas of the country was such a large one that it pushed prices down all over the country.
Martin looked at those apples and he just knew, it was time for another mead!
To our valued customers,
Slide Ridge sells local Utah honey. That is the only honey we bottle and sell. Almost all of the honey we bottle comes from our own beehives, scattered throughout the mountains of Northern Utah. When necessary, we purchase additional honey from other local Utah producers whose quality and production standards match our own. If you buy a bottle of Slide Ridge Raw Honey, we guarantee that it was made by Utah bees, in Utah.
With a long tradition of beekeeping (Martin has been keeping bees for over 30 years), the foundation of our business and our success is healthy and productive bees and hives. Over the years, Martin has researched and tested many alternative practices for maintaining healthy hives.
